Privacy policy

This policy explains how ROTTENDATALABS SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES, trading as RottenData Labs (“we”, “us”), handles personal information. We are a sole proprietorship registered with the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry under reference PBSX749119370666, based in Iloilo City · Philippines.

We process personal information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules.

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers this website. It does not cover the products we operate or build, which carry their own privacy notices:

• Burrow (burrowph.com) publishes its own privacy policy. For boarding house records held there, the operator of each boarding house is the personal information controller and we act as their processor.
• Systems built for clients are turned over to the client, who becomes the controller of any data held in them. Once turnover is complete we hold no copy of that data.

2. Information we collect

Through this website we collect only what you choose to send us:

• Enquiry details. When you use the contact form, your name, email address, and the brief you write. The form composes a message in your own email client. Nothing is stored on this website and no data is transmitted to a server by the form itself.
• Correspondence. If you email or call us, we keep that correspondence so we can respond and maintain a record of the engagement.

This site is a static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and does not build a profile of you.

3. Why we process it

• To respond to your enquiry and prepare a proposal.
• To deliver and support work you have engaged us for.
• To meet record-keeping obligations under Philippine law.

Our lawful basis is your consent when you contact us, and the necessity of processing to perform a contract once an engagement begins.

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose it only to service providers strictly necessary to operate (for example hosting and email providers), and where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a public authority.

5. Retention

Enquiries that do not become engagements are kept no longer than two years. Records relating to an actual engagement are kept for the period required by tax and commercial record-keeping rules, then deleted.

6. Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to object, to access, to rectify, to erase or block, to damages, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. To exercise any of these, email rodlester.moreno23@gmail.com. We respond within a reasonable period and will not charge you for a reasonable request.

7. Security

We apply reasonable organisational, physical, and technical measures to protect personal information, including encrypted transport, access control on client systems, and least-privilege credentials. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected individuals and the National Privacy Commission of a breach where the law requires it.

8. Children

This website is not directed at children. Where we build systems that hold records about minors, such as school portals, the institution remains the controller of that data and is responsible for parental consent.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
